The first thing that Nicole Fabre bought from an antique market was
a piece of French antique textile. For her it afforded
as much pleasure as a painting would. ‘I absolutely
fell in love with it,’ she recalls.
The more she acquired, the more her passion for textiles, in
particular those of the French 18th and 19th Century,
grew.
This passion led to Nicole producing her own fabrics inspired by her
impressive archive. After two years of planning and
research helped by her co-director John Laflin (Design
Director of Liberty of London Prints 1974-1998) Nicole
Fabre Designs have launched a variety of collections
from natural linens, vegetable-dyed linen, hand-loom
woven checks and stripes to exquisite hand screen printed fabrics.
John Laflin also works closely with the interior designer Penny Morrison on her designs and fabrics that we distribute in the United Kingdom.
